Reel Theology: Friday Night at the Movies – Interstellar Film (2014)

The Learning Collaborative presents the acclaimed film “Interstellar” for its next Reel Theology evening. On the surface it is an imaginative science fiction story. At a deeper level it calls into question the certainties we have grounded in Newtonian physics. The alternative, quantum physics, shakes our assumptions about time and space and what is real. A theology of quantum physics suggests that inexplicable events surround us all the time inviting a wider view about the activity of God in our world. A stellar cast including Matthew McConaughey, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Matt Damon and Casey Affleck add to the superb story challenging us to imagine an alternative universe.
