Rev. Marshela Salgado-Solorio grew up between Latin America and the U.S. before settling in San Diego. Coming from a family of theologians, she has long been passionate about ministry, service, and demonstrating God’s unconditional love through action and activism. Influenced by her family’s justice and artistic work in Guatemala, she brings creativity and a commitment to social change into her ministry. Marshela has developed educational and faith-formation programs for nonprofits and churches. She co-founded SD United Youth Collaborative, an open and affirming, inclusive youth group for teens in 6-12 grade throughout San Diego. Marshela has a deep commitment to Progressive Christianity and is grateful for a church like UCC!
