We have several events each month that are hosted by collaboratives - special interest groups within the congregation.  Events are open to everyone.  We hope that you can join us!

The Learning Collaborative is hosting Living the Questions which is a "DVD curriculum designed to help people wrestle with the relevance of Christianity in the 21st century."  It is facilitated by Tim Stigers.

 

San Diego Blood Bank
With February being Heart Month, UCC's Community Building Collaborative will host the San Diego Blood Bank on Sunday, the 10th, before and after worship service.  You'll have an opportunity to donate blood.
 

DMV Outreach

The Outreach Collaborative will be giving out coffee and doughnuts on February 11, at DMV in Hillcrest

Join the Spirituality Collaborative on February 27, at 7:00 p.m. in Friendship Hall for a conversation on Living Buddha, Living Christ between Jeffrey Zlotnik from   Dharma Bum Buddhist Temple and Rev. Steve Shepard.

March 03, on “Fat Sunday” the Hospitality Collaborative will sponsor a Cajun lunch at 11:00 a.m. in Friendship Hall

 

Labyrinth Walking

Ash Wednesday/Glitter Ashes

This year on March 06, the Metropolitan Community Church will be hosting our Ash Wednesday service, and the Outreach Collaborative will be sponsoring our Glitter Ashes.

 

Founder’s Day at Chapman University

Join the Learning Collaborative on March 09, at 9:00 a.m.  -  3:15 p.m. at Chapman’s University
 
 

Peanut Butter & Jelly Brigade

March 10, at 11:00 a.m. in the kitchen and the community.  Come get your fingers sticky with the Peace & Justice Collaborative as we prepare sandwiches and distribute them throughout our neighborhood.

 

Uptown Walk-a-thon

Saturday, March 16, from 7:00am – 12:00pm, we’ll meet in Friendship Hall and then walk to raise money for Uptown.

 

St. Patrick's Day Corn Beef Fest

The Community Building Collaborative will be serving up the good stuff on Sunday, March 17  from 11:30am – 3:00 pm

 

UCC Scholarship Banquet

Sunday, March 24, at 7:00am – 6:00pm in Friendship Hall

 

Mental Health Event

On March 30-31, we will be partnering with BELOVED San Diego (a new contemplative Disciples congregation where Rev. Dale Suggs is the pastor) to bring the Rev. Dr. Sarah Griffith Lund to San Diego.  She will be leading an event in North County on March 30 and will be preaching in worship on March 31.
